Needs Experienced Adopter: Yes, he is somewhat anxious and a bit of a “Houdini”. It would help to have an adopter who is familiar with the breed behaviors and knows how to work to build him a routine to keep him safe and happy.

Sarge is a super affectionate guy who has never met a stranger! He is house and crate trained, although we are still working on a bit of separation anxiety. He has made great strides with this in the short time we have had him. He just absolutely loves his people and wants to be with them all the time.
He walks great on a leash and is very gentle and friendly to people and other dogs. He loves a good stuffy toy and will bring his babies over to show you. He is generally pretty lazy, but enjoys playing fetch and romping in the yard with his playmates. Mostly he just wants his head in your lap and lots of snuggles.
Sarge is very food motivated and learns fast. He can sit, give you his paw, and he knows commands like “off,” “wait,” and “stay.”
Because of his anxiety, he would probably do better in a home with at least one other dog, so he doesn’t get lonely. We have seen no resource guarding, and he is not bothered by touching his eyes, muzzle, teeth, etc.
